The soundtrack for your next adventure is taken care of.

Our THUMP Editor Lachlan Kanoniuk has put together the ultimate summer mini mix, the perfect soundtrack for a day trip or spontaneous adventure.

A soundtrack can make or break a trip, so there's a few things to consider when making a mix. Firstly, space—not so much physical space, but a sense of aural spaciousness. The beat keeps you connected while your mind has a chance to wander. Introspection can be a great thing during adventure. Next, connectivity. It's all about that moment—the drop, the hook, the lyric—where you can turn to your mate and just know you're both feeling the exact same thing at the exact same time. And lastly, fun (duh). Don't be afraid to get goofy. There's no such thing as a guilty pleasure. Be fearless: the musical heart wants what the musical heart wants.

Learn by example below with THUMP's picks for Summer 2016. Let the good times roll, feel the wind in your hair, etc, etc.

Harvey Sutherland - Bermuda
Ara Koufax - Makers
