Tanlines, AraabMUZIK, And Emicida Blow The Roof Off The Creators Project: São Paulo 2012

An unusual mix of artists come together to rock the stage at our Brazil event.

The Creators Project: São Paulo 2012 ended with an epic bang, a night of musical performances from an eclectic mix of both Brazilian and American artists, ranging in style from pop to hip-hop. Our events always bring together performers of a variety of styles, and this one was no different, except that instead of an open air festival vibe, it had the feel of an intimate club show, taking over the stage at São Paulo’s Moinho venue. Joining forces to rock the party into the night were AraabMUZIK, with a special appearance by local legend MC Emicida, and our favorite Brooklyn dance-pop duo Tanlines.

The guys from Tanlines were just happy to be in Brazil, enjoying the good vibes of the Paulistanos and the occasional choripán, and their blissful mood translated into a euphoric set that had the crowd lost in their quasi-romantic electronic jams.

Once the crowd was in a nice mellow state, AraabMUZIK entered the arena to wreck their heads with his rapid fire MPC skill. For a moment, AraabMUZIK gave his trigger fingers a rest and dropped a hype beat, inviting to the stage a man well-known to the crowd watching: Emicida. With a shout to his hometown, the MC went off on the mic in Brazilian Portuguese, making it a live collaboration binding hip-hop from two hemispheres.

We’ve got lots more to tell about the music from The Creators Project: São Paulo 2012, including the amazing Karol ConKá. Stay tuned…
