The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge is Washing Over EDM

In a markedly post-millenial bout of meditated memery, The ALS Association has instigated the #IceBucketChallenge, and they could not have imagined the way in which it's swept the World. Everyone from soccer players to politicians to Kermit the Frog are pouring gallons of freezing water over their domes in the name of…not donating to ALS? We're not entirely sure about that bit, but what we do know is that the phenomenon has now hit the dance world, and it's gone straight to the top. But do any of these guys have any idea what this thing is about? Let's find out.

Tiësto

got wet in Vegas surrounded by bikini babes. His bucket rode in on a chariot and then everybody got sprayed down with champagne. We don't think he mentioned ALS at all. Somewhere out there, Stephen Hawking is saying, "Meh."

Nicky Romero

made a huge production in Ibiza and then poured a vase-ful of ice water on his hat.

Martin Garrix

got a mouthful of wet sand while nominating Dillon Francis, Ed Sheeran, and the King of the Netherlands.

Calvin Harris

took his shirt off and stood around by himself like a svdboy, albeit, a chiseled svdboy, didn't say a word, and then emptied a trash bin's worth of water on himself. He didn't look very happy about the whole thing. No mention of ALS.

Steve Aoki

got wet in his own backyard with Deorro holding the bucket. His list of challengees included Hulk Hogan, Martin Garrix, Verne Troyer, and funny faced German soccer player Mesut Ozil. He does say that he's gonna donate, which is rad, and at least he seems to know what the whole thing is about. Aoki for the win!
