A lot of people underestimate how much you can do with a short song. Sure, we can all point to how cool a twenty minute post-rock jam is, and how interwoven everything is. A short song is just as hard though; figuring out how to smash a good amount of dynamics into the size of a fist. If anyone can make it tight and quick, it’s Doe. Doe is a band straight outta London playing cool kid punk for everyone to get hyped and sad to. This new track, “Let Me In” shows off the band’s chops in a neat little package. In about two minutes, the trio goes from a Pavement-y opening of tension building riffs, to an almost pop-punk chorus, to a nice refrain straight on some classic twinkly shit. The guitar sections are smart, and the vocals are super dreamy. It stays anthemic without being made of cheese."Let Me In" comes off the band's first record, First Four which you can pre-order right here.
