Atari Jones and Hudson Alexander's New EP "Promi6" to Be "Really Really" Good

Listen to the"promi6"-ing two tracks. Okay, we'll stop.

You can count Cleveland rapper Atari Jones and Toronto producer Hudson Alexander as our new favorite upcoming rapper/production duo, if this two track EP consisting of "Promi6" and "Really Really" is anything to go by. "Promi6" is a mid-tempo R&B infused rap track that features ambient bass and swift high hats, while "Really Really" lets the mood set in with a slower-paced track driven by fuzzy and low-bending basslines. Atari Jones deftly switches flows while trading verses about, well, promises as well as stories of the city.

"When Hudson played me some of his beats, they were fire, and I just began freestyling on the spot and one of those tracks was 'Promi6,'" Atari explains. "The other track ["Really Really"] I wrote while being back in Cleveland, which originally just had Lum [of Bedroomer] on the hook, so I just structured the song around that, but both songs have sections about my time in Toronto. I thought it was only right since the homies who I hung with in the city were from Toronto and since the city itself inspired me."
