Zora Jones' Remix of Boeystraat Is an Undeniable Club Banger

The Barcelona producer creates an interesting dynamic between dragging melodic pull and a hyper-energetic rhythmic template.

Last week, Zurich rapper, DJ, and producer Boeystraat took to Facebook to give some candid backstory to his debut EP, Lucid Days, which came out this past April via Mano Fico: "My debut EP is a very intimate body of work," he explained. "It was a creative journey to get back in touch with my inner self, rather than a generic/commercial musical release for an audience."

On his track "Longstreet" in particular, you really do get the sense that he's not holding anything back; but where the original is slow, starkly greyscale and almost uncomfortably gloomy, Barcelona DJ and producer Zora Jones' remix takes that pervasive melancholy and throws it into overdrive, turning it into a warehouse-ready club banger. Jones succeeds in creating a very interesting dynamic between dragging melodic pull and a hyper-energetic rhythmic template; stream it below, and look out for Lucid Dayz (Remixes) when it drops tomorrow, also via Mano Fico. The collection also features reworks by Helix, Divoli S'vere, and Simpig.
