Here’s the Trailer for ‘The Book of Boba Fett,’ Which Is NOT ‘The Mandalorian’

I have Boba Fett fatigue.

Disney has just shared the first trailer for The Book of Boba Fett, a television series about the most iconic Star Wars bounty hunter.

If you are just a casual Star Wars fan or a Star Wars hater, you might look at this trailer and say, wait, didn’t we just spend a couple of years getting hyped up and then intermittently angry about this show already?

This confusion is understandable because The Book of Boba Fett looks a lot like but is in fact a different show from The Mandalorian, which also follows a Star Wars bounty hunter that wears identical armor, and that spends a lot of time on the same desert planet.

Boba Fett, who makes a guest appearance on The Mandalorian, first appeared in the original Star Wars movie trilogy as the silent and scary bounty hunter who delivered a carbon frozen Han Solo to Jabba the Hutt, but who ultimately got comically owned in Return of the Jedi by falling into a hole. Ultimately, he is mostly remembered and adored by Star Wars fans because of his cool armor and a very popular action figure.

The titular Mandalorian is a bounty hunter that looks identical to Boba Fett which Disney wisely invented so it can make a show about a guy in cool armor but give him a more interesting backstory and character development.

Apparently, Disney thinks that there’s enough appetite for these two shows to coexist and drive subscriptions to its streaming service Disney+ when it debuts on December 29. It’s probably right, but I am personally experiencing some Boba Fett fatigue.
