The Editors' New Groove Vol. XVIII

It's Friday. Listen to these tunes and don't be a barn, or a Ferguson.

The Editors' New Groove is a weekly pow-wow on the freshest new releases from THUMP's editors and regular contributors' radars.

Thomas White - Ariose
The weirdest glittlertrap I've heard yet. It's like the sound of shivers going down the spine of a goose. (Matt Earp)

Inxec & Mark Jenkyns - Broken Wings (Hrdvsion Remix)
I sent this to Elissa and she said she wanted a dub version because the vocal was "barning" the track. I guess in whatever far-flung, golf course-dotted California suburb she's from, being a "barn" is sort of like being a "derp" or a "Ferguson," if you will—you know, the spastic, uncouth nerd who messes everything up. Anyways, I don't think the vocal's barning anything, OK? This whole release is titties. (Max Pearl)

Hardware - Your Move
Like jungle made in the basement of the motorcycle shop across the street from my old place—harsh and dirty on the outside, full of love and packed with pep and power on the inside. (Matt Earp)

AlunaGeorge - Kaleidoscope Love (Kaytranada Edition)
Last month, my neighbor's "thing" was practicing improv monologues alone in his apartment. Now it seems like he's all about spitting aggressive rap freestyles alone in his apartment. Maybe next month I'll get lucky and he'll start producing funky bassline remixes for Alunageorge, and I can actually go next door to chill. (David Garber)

Romare - Jimmy
2014's thrown us a few curveballs already. I guess Skrillex is cool again, Nico Jaar is washed up, and Schoolboy Q is far more talented than anyone actually expected. In other news, acoustic guitars are back. This new jam from Romare sounds like The Books if they weren't so fucking twee. (Max Pearl)

Louisahhh!!! & Maelstrom - Night Clubbing
I got only one question people. Who's coming with me??? (David Garber)

Minor Science - Foggy Situation
I know that posting this track makes me a trendy hipster cool kid lemming, but it's so tite. And you know what? I'm gonna post the Chemotex clips when that monster hits shelves, too. Bite me. (Elissa Stolman)

Fit - Seedbed
Aaron "FIT" Siegel wears a few hats. Since 2008, he's been working as a distributor, making sure the best Detroit records get into the right hands. But it just so happens that for the past few years, he's also been making some of the best Detroit records too. (Joel Fowler)

Myler - Butter Soft Leather
As FACT recently pointed out, eye-bleeding techno rippers are back. This mind-numbing pounder is from the up-and-coming Irishman Myler, and I bet even the Antichrist is sitting up to take notice. (Michelle Ong)

My Nu Leng - You've Been Gone
There's a Malaysian dish called rojak that's some unholy/delicious combination of bean curds, prawn fritters, eggs, bean sprouts, cuttlefish, boiled potatoes and cucumber, all mixed up in a peanut sauce. Because of the clusterfuck nature of the dish, the word "rojak" is also used to describe anything that's just a hot mess. Anyway, My Nu Leng's eclectic mix of grime, dubstep, UK funky, and god knows what else is the rojak of bass music. (Michelle Lhooq)
