It's been a long time since I heard the words "baile funk" – about the same length of time it's been since I saw a glowstick, or heard anything new from Bonde Do Role. Concidence? No: Marina Gasolina's (now defunct) group did a lot for the sound, but she's since moved on, as evidenced in the new episode of The Producers. Marina is joined in the Red Bull Studio in London by Ladytron songwriter and longtime friend Daniel Hunt, and the pair set about trying to update the rockabilly sound that dominates her "hillbilly, white trash" hometown of Curitiba, Brazil.
