The Top Five Tracks You Will Hear at Miami Music Week

These tracks are just begging for their time in the sun.

Miami Music Week is a seven-day music conference that shakes up the palm tree-laden oasis of South Beach. MMW and its industry-oriented component, the Winter Music Conference, have essentially become the SXSW of dance music. A weeklong schedule of pool parties, BBQs and all-night soirees accompany panel discussions covering everything from new DJ technology to intimate sit-downs with the world's greatest electronic music icons. And after it ends, everybody shifts gears and heads straight into one of the most celebrated festivals in the galaxy—Ultra Music Festival.

The auto industry has the New York Car Show, Milan has Fashion Week and Silicon Valley has SXSW—but the best and brightest in EDM strut their stuff during this week in March. Here are five tracks that we suspect will shaking speakers, moving feet, and sending a whole lotta hands in the air down in Miami

Shiba San - "OKAY"

If there's one dance music label that exemplifies the Miami vibe it's the San Francisco party starters at Dirtybird. Founded by Claude Von Stroke and Justin Martin, this imprint is known for their special blend of booty bass, which as you may know, is impossible for your hips to resist. The label will be hosting their beloved annual Dirtybird BBQ during MMW and it's pretty much a guarantee that Shiba San's dancefloor destroyer,"Okay," will be dropped here, there and just about every where else you could possibly go.

Route 94 - "My Love"

Route 94 seems to have come out of nowhere and exploded onto the scene over the last half a year or so. With tracks like "My Love," a sultry, grooving joyride that features vocalist Jess Glynee, it's not really any surprise why. Something tells me this one will be a big hit during the sunset sessions around Miami.
Duke Dumont - "I Got U"

In Miami, there's constant sunshine, pools and beaches galore, and a whole lot of people wearing far too little clothing. So it's a kind of a no-brainer that this new track from house stud Duke Dumont, "I Got You"—which flows with tropical euphoric poolside vibes—will receive a great deal of airtime throughout the week.

Chromeo - "Come Alive"

Sometimes there's nothing better than taking a step back from festival-size anthems to dance to a funky sing-along. Our parents got down to the Bee Gees and Prince while we got silly to everything from Will Smith to Usher and Lil' John. But now, in the year of 2014, funky electro outfit Chromeo has emerged as the new go-to for fun light-hearted jams that we all love to shake it to. This track off the new album, "Come Alive," will surely be the catalyst of more than a few impromtu dance circles in South Beach.

Kidnap Kid - "Stronger"

During Miami Music Week, not only does a ton of awesome stuff takes place during the day, but at night. When the sun goes down, the party continues as flocks of people make way into the city's world-class dance clubs to turn up their nights. Most of the parties get going late and see partygoers into sunrise. Look out for this new track from Kidnap Kid to accompany your next night-till-morning scene.
