Here's What Went Down at OutsideIn 2015

A blow by blow by bucket hat account of one of the country's finest boutique festivals.

Battling a serious case of jetlag, I drag my dance moves from the depths of my closet, battle the rain and head to Manning House. I stand in line while the heavens pour down on my poor little head, but thank god things pick up from there. Here are a few personal highlights from throughout the day:

Surprise!
Upon finishing her courtyard set, there's cake, candles and a crowd of 200 people scream singing the tune of Happy Birthday to a bewildered DJ Adi Toohey.

Total Love
Sporting luscious blonde locks and jewels finer than the bling my Maltese grandma's holding for my one-day wedding, Total Giovanni guys seriously wowed me with a super sexy live show. All truly transfixed by singer Spike Punch gyrating in his loincloth-esque outfit. Disco at it's finest. Tight. And that baby making bass tone. Serious hip-swaying and PDA to hits "Paradise" and "Can't Control My Love".

In Fine Voice
Ella Thompson from GL, I'm forever impressed by anyone who can make vocal looping look like an effortless task while simultaneously playing a Casio, hitting ridiculous notes and wooing an audience with infectious personality. I could seriously jam their tunes in my ears all day long. Cosmo's Midnight also had guest appearances from killers vocalist Nicole Millar and Kučka, who also slayed a set of her own.

Grime and Perspiration
I'm about 97% sure that if you head to any RBMA hosted stage these days you're going to leave a sweaty mess! With a stellar bunch of local acts like KUČKA, GL, Charles Murdoch and Cassius Select, not to mention grime king Stormzy, they know what's fresh. Always packed tight but definitely no signs of discontent. Stormzy, of course, was the most hyped act on the bill. You honestly couldn't move more than 5m without hearing this guy's name. He dropped most people's favourite set of the night, but here it is summed up best by a passer-by: "He's a babe, and he had his shirt off. I was so happy!!!!"

Bouquets to Buckets
This day couldn't be considered a legit festival without sighting the bucket hat. There in its various forms - bright blue, denim and the camouflage… A total sight of 14. Not bad Sydney, not bad at all.

Special mention to Devin The Dude with his SHREK visuals. Real cool.
