Detroit techno veteran Carl Craig has been known for his mind-bending live performances long before laptops made it easy to pull off, although it's a relatively rare treat that he brings his synths and drum machines out for a show. Over the weekend he graced the ARTE Concert Festival in Paris, France with a full live performance of material from his 2010 album Modular Pursuits, which he originally recorded under his No Boundaries moniker.

The 72-minute show was recorded to video, and captures the producer manipulating a variety of equipment, including modular synths, keyboards, drum machines, a laptop, and a pair of CDJs. The CDJs were only used for stuttering textures, rather than providing beats, and much of the set is closer to experimental ambient than dance floor techno. The beats do kick in about half an hour into the show though, so stay patient if you're craving machine rhythms.
