In the weeks leading up to the release of D∆WN's new album, Redemption, the experimental artist has shared a new single, "Vines (Interlude)," featuring musician (and current Maroon 5 keyboardist) PJ Morton.The sensual, almost minimal track hits a different note compared to D∆WN's previous, higher-energy work, resulting in a fusion of electronic and southern soul-inspired sound that she dubbed "bayou synth" or "sultry voodooism" in an interview with W. Of the track, she said, "I wanted a record that breathed, that was different from a lot of the records on the album, that had the space to just sit. I wanted it to be naked." Listen to it below.Redemption is the third and final installment in her Heart trilogy, following 2013's Goldenheart and last year's Blackheart. In a previous interview, she told Billboard that her hometown of New Orleans plays a central role in the album, particularly in its use of live instrumentation, thanks to guest features from fellow hometown artists Morton and Trombone Shorty. Much of the LP was produced by frequent collaborator Machinedrum. Last month, she shared one of its tracks, "Renegades."Redemption arrives November 18 via Local Action / Our Dawn Entertainment.
