Felicity Yang Gives Oscar Key Sung's "Altruism" An Emotionally Fluid Rework

The rework arrives with visual accompaniment from artist Imogen Baker.

Oscar Key Sung's 2015 EP Altruism is a pristine showcase of R&B-inflected electronica, with the Melbourne artist creating intricate productions resonant with genuine emotion. Now Oscar's hometown peer Felicity Yang has deconstructed the EP's title track for a delicate rework, premiering today on THUMP with complementary visuals from artist Imogen Baker.

Felicity Yang states of the remix, "This song is my favourite on Oscar's latest EP. It reminds me of how human nature is so flexible - our best qualities can rise to the surface because of another person, or because of a sudden or painful event. To materialise that movement sonically was really enjoyable. Imogen's visuals are a beautiful interpretation of this sentiment."

Video director Imogen Baker adds, "Felicity and I didn't confer too much on specifics before I fleshed out the first draft of this clip and it was a happy, or fateful, coincidence that when we did talk about the song, we had the same sort of feelings come up, the idea of emotional fluidity. My work always comes back to working with water and it seemed so perfectly suited to Felicity's delicate remix, it came very easily."
