ON DECK: Vaski

The rising producer from Minneapolis rides the full spectrum of turn-up bass music.

Vaski is having a very solid summer. Earlier this month, the Minneapolis-based producer debuted a new dubstep single on an unlikely home: Spinnin' Records. The most common reaction in the comments section? "I don't even like dubstep, but this is great!" With a knack for spiraling tones and powerful climaxes, the quick-rising bass pusher started making waves with a genre-spanning EP 2051 (released for free download via Hot Damn), and slots at festivals like Electric Forest, Camp Bisco, and Bass Camp.

Even as the summer draws into its final act, Vaski's not slowing down. On his sweltering ON DECK mix, he rides the spectrum of turn-up pushers, from Jack Ü, Paper Diamond, and Cookie Monsta, to the more experimental A.G. Cook and Rustie. Brazenly, he even releases us from his swampy bass wormhole for some gentler cuts from Kimbra. Check out the mix above, and watch his latest video over at Noisey:
