5 Reasons To Check Out The Superheroes Anonymous Stage at IleSoniq

Montreal’s newest electronic music festival is happening this weekend. Check out our breakdown of Adventure Club’s own stage.

Montreal has always been a cultural and party hotspot in Canada, dating back to the early days of disco with extended drinking hours and a slew of slamming venues and afterhours spots. "The City of Saints" truly lives up to its historical nickname from the prohibition-era: "Sin City."

In keeping with the spirit of the city, Electronic Nation Canada, Ink Entertainment, and Evenko are proud to present Ilesoniq, the newest electronic music festival of its kind in Montreal. Taking place this Friday and Saturday, the two-day event is packed with huge names including Tiesto and Dillon Francis, who will be showcasing their new albums, as well as Laidback Luke, Infected Mushroom, Kill The Noise and Zeds Dead, to name a few.

On Friday, our favourite pair of heroic DJs, Adventure Club, will be hosting their own stage, the aptly named Superheroes Anonymous Stage. Check out our list below for five incredible artists who will be performing at the stage.

1. Adventure Club

We really can't say enough good things about Montreal's own Adventure Club. Their uplifting and euphoric traverses musical genres, touching upon dubstep, electro, progressive house and more. Their unbridled enthusiasm makes their live performances feel like something out of a Marvel summer blockbuster. Check out their most recent podcast, Superheroes Anonymous 5: Road Trip Edition, to get yourself primed and ready for the madness to come this weekend-it's teeming with tons of talented Canadian producers, including Zeds Dead, Charlie Darker, Hunter Siegel, and two more acts down below.

2. The Chainsmokers

Say what you want about their giant crossover hit, "#SELFIE," but it's hard to deny that this New York-based duo knows how to make infectious big room hits. Their music is catchy, melodic and danceable. To top if off, they're actually really funny, down to earth, awesome guys (embarrassing American Idol spot notwithstanding). Leave your hater shades behind and throw it down in style.

3. 3LAU

Originally known for his 3ass-filled, 3ooty-shaking 3ootlegs, 3LAU has since gone on to prove that he is more than capable of producing incredible originals. For a case in point, just take a look at his massive collaborative effort with Bright Lights, How You Love Me. Better yet, check out his recent effort with Botnek, "Vikings," for a hard-hitting electro anthem. Speaking of Botnek…

4. Botnek

Anyone doubting that Montreal is the new hotspot for electro house needs look no further than Botnek. The dastardly duo tore the roof off Martin Garrix' "Animals" (Garrix actually used their remix as his official opener during the We Are Animals Tour) and since then, they've delivered a non-stop barrage of hard-hitting party anthems. Hell, they even made The Chainsmokers' "#SELFIE" bearable. You'd be doing yourself a disservice if you skipped their set this weekend, believe us.

5. SNAILS

Montreal's own Frédérik Durand, aka SNAILS, is the self-described purveyor of "vomitstep," which might sound gross, but one listen to the dude's disgusting drops and you'll quickly realize that the name fits. He first caught our attention thanks to a pair of face-melting tunes with Botnek, but it was "Wild," featured in Skrillex and Diplo's Jack U set at Ultra Music Festival, that pushed his grimy style of bass music to the forefront of Canada's electronic scene. Expect everything from trap, dubstep, drumstep, and hip-hop in his set this Friday.
