Welcome to the Coolest (and Highest) Party in the World

The World Ski and Snowboard Festival is going to make sure that your legs are tired from more than just the hills.

Sitting 675 meters (2,215 feet) above sea level, Whistler Blackcomb is quite literally going to throw the coolest (and highest) party in the world. *Insert obligatory powder joke here. *

From April 11 to 20, the ski resort will play host to the biggest annual gathering of winter sports, music, arts, and culture in North America, the World Ski and Snowboard Festival. The 10-day festival features a slew of big name skiers and snowboarders—many of them Olympians and world champions—and competitive events such as Slopestyle and Big Air. WSSF also offers several other activities, including filmmaker and photographer showdowns, and the Bud Light Silent Disco, a "party like no other", where attendees will grab a pair of headphones and rock out to one of three live DJs while the actual venue itself sits in complete silence.

All of that sounds interesting, but the motto for WSSF is "Party in April. Sleep in May." So where are the crazy parties? Don't worry, this year, the World Ski and Snowboard Festival is going to make sure that your legs are tired from more than just the hills. This year, they want to take you to The END.

As the name suggests, The END is the final event of the festival. From 10 PM on Saturday, April 19 until 4 AM on Sunday morning, Whistler Village's own Conference Center will be ground zero for an electrifying night of powerhouse DJs, a super sound system, and a world-class light show.

The lineup includes:

Skratch Bastid - 10:00 PM

A three-time winner of Cincinnati's Scribble Jam, Skratch Bastid is one of Canada's most highly respected DJ producer. Blending hip-hop, funk, disco, and rock to form a sound and style that is undeniably his own, he has performed alongside the likes of Nas, DJ Premier, Ludacris, and The Tragically Hip, to name a few. Oh yeah, and he was also the first Canadian DJ to ever be nominated for Producer of the Year at the Juno Awards (sorry, Joel).

Sleepy Tom - 11:30 PM

Q: What do you get when you take two hundred days of rain and an endless will to create?
A: A very Sleepy Tom.

Despite what his name would suggest, Sleepy Tom's live shows are anything but. The Vancouver native's genre-defying productions have received support from artists such as Zeds Dead and Felix Cartal, and last year he released an EP on A-Trak's own Fools Gold Records. Check out his latest Bud Light Living Room Mix and prepare yourself for a set of mountainous proportions.

Mat The Alien - 1:00 AM

Put simply, Mat The Alien is on "some next level shit." Born in England but raised in Whistler, Mat has performed at some of the largest sporting events in the world, including the Olympics (both Torino and Whistler), the X Games, and the AMA Supercross. He's also held down a bi-weekly residency at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, for those of you doubting his club credentials.

Rusko - 2:30 AM

The dubstep pioneer hardly needs an introduction, but he's getting one anyway. The wild and wacky Englishman is best known for his insatiable party appetite and a host of wub-tastic productions, and we can't think of a better way to close out the festivities than to have him headline. If you've haven't heard of him by now, there might be something clinically wrong with you, so check out his SoundCloud and get ready to go mental when the "Cockney Thug" takes center stage.
