Flying Lotus has been announced as the guest curator of Calgary's Sled Island Music & Arts Festival, which returns from June 21-25, 2017.

In addition, the Brainfeeder founder will perform at The Palace Theatre on June 24, among the 250 bands, comedy acts, films, and visual art projects that are chosen for more than 35 venues across Calgary. Since 2007, the festival has established a reputation for its thoughtful and eclectic programming, with past guest curators including Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Kathleen Hanna, Tim Hecker, and Wire's Colin Newman.

In other Flying Lotus news, his debut film Kuso (released on his new production company Brainfeeder Films) premieres at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival this weekend, and stars Zack Fox, Hannibal Burress, Tim Heidecker, George Clinton, and more.

Sled Island passes are currently on-sale on the festival's website, and read our interview with last year's curator Peaches here.
