Bwana’s New Track Leaves a Surefire Impression

Let the brooding build guide you.

Last week THUMP spoke with Toronto DJ/producer, Bwana about his return to the music landscape, commenting on his years of patience, his inked deal with Aus Music and his outlook as of late.

This week, we are pleased to premiere one of the standout tracks from his debut EP on Aus Music. "Aomame" is the fourth track on the Flute Dreams EP and it comes with a tempered bassline, plush effects and an impeccably infectious rhythm.

The 24-year-old has channeled his time writing, mixing and producing enough tracks to keep the momentum well throughout 2015—this is just the first taste. But don't expect the entries to be formulaic since he "doesn't like to stick to one characteristic," as can be heard on the new EP.

"For the past couple of years I've really sacrificed and cut out my social life," he notes. "I barely go out because I'm always working, it's funny because I'd hear that names like Sasha were playing my music and here I was working away not out there playing. But it feels good to know I have music for days and I'm ready to go at it in 2015."

Armed with a new manager, a new label home and a new found confidence, Bwana's reintroduction is now.

The Flute Dreams EP is out on December 1. Bwana's release party will take place on November 28 at Bambi's in Toronto.
