Avant-garde luminaries Christian Fennesz and Jim O'Rourke have come together for what may be one of 2016's most noteworthy collaborations.

Juno Plus reports that the duo are teaming up to release two vinyl side-long tracks for the record It's Hard For Me To Say I'm Sorry. These tracks were recorded in Kobe, Japan (where O'Rourke resided at the time) back in September. Though the two musicians have previously collaborated in the trio Fenn O'Berg (along with Editions Mego head Peter Rehberg), this will be their first output as twosome with Fennesz electronic wizardy responding to O'Rourke's experimental stringed instrumentation.

Mego Editions, who will put out the album in June, calls the album a "warm electronic adventure," with "O'Rourke's gurgling harmonies swimming amongst the shimmering frequencies and strummed melodies produced by Fennesz."

It's Hard For Me To Say I'm Sorry is out with Mego Editions on June 24. Have a listen to an excerpt below.
