Acclaimed experimental producer Daniel Lopatin, a.k.a. Oneohtrix Point Never, today shared two new snippets from his original soundtrack for the upcoming feature film Good Time. They appear in the first official trailer for the Ben and Joshua Safdie-directed film; the first is a solo ambient work called "Hospital Escape" and the second is a pensive collaboration with rock icon Iggy Pop, titled "The Pure And The Damned."

Good Time stars Robert Pattinson, and is about his attempt to rescue his brother from prison and escape from the law himself after a bank robbery. The Safdie brothers are known for directing films including 2014's Heaven Knows What and 2009's Daddy Longlegs.

Film and TV website The Playlist first reported that Lopatin was scoring the film last week. In a Twitter response to their story about the movie, the Safdie brothers described the tone of his soundtrack as something like a sequel to his 2009 compilation Rifts.

In an interview with Rolling Stone last month, Iggy Pop described the experience of working with Lopatin. "I had a ball doing that," he said. "It was challenging musically."

Just this past weekend, it was announced that Lopatin was also working on music with David Byrne and Brian Eno.

Good Time is an official selection for the upcoming Cannes film festival, which begins tomorrow, May 17, and lasts until May 28. It will open in theaters on August 11.
