Experimental dance producer Jlin recently went on the Line Noise Podcast to talk about her "hands on" live performances and discovering her sound. But the producer also used the opportunity to discuss details of her forthcoming album.

The Quietus reports that Jlin described her new LP will "veer very far left of footwork," and will be called either "Black Origami: The Motherboard, which is the one I'll probably go with, or Black Origami: The Dark Lotus." She also stated the album will be released in March 2017.

Last month, Jlin posted an untitled track to her Soundcloud that evidenced a shift in sound for the producer who made her name in footwork, and who stated that she didn't identify as being tied to the genre: "I have to say, don't consider myself a footwork artist," she said in the interview. "And I think it's really going to start coming out, especially when this second album comes out…. Even with Dark Energy, [which] has elements of footwork in it. I wouldn't consider it a footwork album."

Jlin was joined on stage alongside Barcelona producer and DJ Zora Jones. The two briefly discussed a collaboration they are working on together, but demurred from playing too long a sample. "The world will hear it when it's ready," said Jones, who also called Jlin her "favorite producer."
