My Digital Enemy's Latest Track is Gospel in Go-Go Boots

The Brighton duo is "Looking For Soul" — and they've found it.

My Digital Enemy is "Looking For Soul" on their new single, and they seem to have found it with the help of vocalist Phil Rizzo. The track, which is due out on MDE's own imprint, Zulu Records, later this month, is the product of a serendipitous meeting between Rizzo and the duo at the Castle Club in Chicago.

After going on to play alongside each other on a few occasions at the Spy Bar in the Windy City, Rizzo sent MDE the vocals to "Looking For Soul" and the duo was "immediately hooked" by the hook.

The duo says, "Phil's vocal took us down a deeper more soulful route than our usual sound. We are really pleased with the result. It oozes soul and feeling!"

Just a casual familiarity with MDE's recent work — like the recently released "Keep Moving" — is enough to see the departure that they've taken with this new record. With Rizzo's vocals emanating throughout, the track moves like gospel in go-go boots.

Traditional house-heads may disapprove, but with previous support from Spinnin' Records, Pete Tong, and Annie Mac, the duo should have no problem bringing this soulful, bubblegum house to the mainstream.

"Looking For Soul" will be available on September 21 through Zulu Records.
