Update [October 31, 12:30 PM]: Schimanski has added an official calendar to its website featuring event listings for tonight and this weekend. Dewalta and Konstantin will headline a Halloween Pre-Opening this evening, while Tiger & Woods, Eli & Fur, Jacques Renault, and more will play on Friday and Saturday nights.

Half a year after the nightlife debacle in which Williamsburg nightclub, Verboten, closed its doors after the authorities seized the venue over $360,000 in unpaid taxes, news has hit the streets—literally—of a new nightclub ready to fill its neon-tinged shoes. Say hello to Schimanski, which if you're wondering, is more than likely named after a fictional policeman from a German crime series from 1981. While details on the new club are scarce, people are already finding flyers around the neighborhood for what looks to be an opening party weekend some time in November featuring the likes of Radio Slave, Volvox, Breakbot, Lauren Lane, and many more. The venue recently launched a website that features a sign-up page as well as some photos that appear connected to the aforementioned German TV show.

As THUMP reported back in July of this year, the former owner of Pacha NYC, Eddie Dean, won a bid to take on ownership of the former Verboten space for $1.2 million under the oversight of Staten Island-based firm MYC & Associates Inc. While we don't currently have confirmation of Dean's role in the new space, or when exactly they'll be opening, it would appear that Schimanski is the fruition of his purchase. Check back in for further updates on this developing story.
