This year is plush with Canadian favourites My Favorite Robot, Jacques Greene, and Iron Galaxy.

As the sun perks up across Canada, patios are beginning to open their dusty umbrellas and Canadian clubbers are finally getting the chance to party during the daytime. Is there any better place to do so than under The Calder at Montreal's Parc Jean-Drapeau?

Piknic Electronik has released the first of two artist announcements for the 13th season of the outdoor event series and the Montreal-based crew are wasting no time in generating excitement. As always, Piknic will kick-off the summer season with two days of music on Sunday May 17 and Monday May 18.

Maeve imprint bosses Mano Le Tough will headline Sunday along with The Drifter, before handing the decks over to Monday's headliners—two of Britain's best female exports—Maya Jane Coles and Heidi. Damian Lazarus is another British mainstay and a Piknic favourite, who will return to the waterside on June 7.

Canadian artists are spread across this season's line up and include local mainstays like Toronto's My Favourite Robot, and the Montreal resident Jacques Greene. In addition, Piknic Electronik is hosting the annual MEG showcase, headlined by Belgian-born and Berlin-based Kill Frenzy on July 26.

Piknic Electronik will toss a bit of sunshine on what Igloofest left in ice.
