Mysteryland Returns to New York with Diplo, Dillon, Porter, Kygo and More

Prepare yourself. Things are about to get epically weird.

Just last year, Mysteryland announced itself to the world as the stateside iteration of ID&T's wildly successful European festival brand. On May 23 and 24, Mysteryland returns to upstate New York for another Memorial Day Weekend festival in Bethel Woods, the home of the original 1969 Woodstock festival. Fittingly, the lineup is both epic and a little trippy.

Headlining Saturday's main stage are Empire of the Sun, Porter Robinson performing live, and Kygo in his first summer as a headliner. Robin Schulz and "special guest" Madeon play earlier in the day. Sunday's top billed include Diplo and Dillon Francis with earlier sets from Netsky, Classixx and The M Machine. It's not all mainstage sounds though. Techno tourists will rejoice at curated stages by Matthew Dear and Adam Beyer on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. Joining Dear for his Subversions stage are Maya Jane Coles, Paco Osuna and others while Beyer's Drumcode posse, including Nicole Moudaber and Ida Engberg throw down on Sunday. Meanwhile, Verboten faves Damian Lazarus, Lee Burridge, and The Martinez Brothers top off the Brooklyn club's two days of techno.

You can put your turn-up face on for The Boat with Griz and Gramatik on Saturday and a Bro Safari-presented bash on Sunday that features the Bro himself, TJR, Doctor P and ILoveMakonnen, who enters the rave game this summer (and surprisingly not on a Tuesday). For those who crave a hakken, ID&T's hardstyle brand, Q-Dance, presents a stage featuring Frontliner and Noisecontrollers on Saturday before Manhattan's Webster Hall takes over that stage on Sunday with indie bass vibes featuring Klingande, Bakermat, a Goldroom DJ set, Bondax, Giraffage, and Anna Lunoe.

It was only last Memorial Day that THUMP traded a kandi bracelet for a house whilst taking in the first ever Mysteryland US. First year kinks like hiccups with the wristband payment system and long lines at entry are said to be smoothed out for year two. Still, with expanded camping and activities on-site, plus a special headliner promised for Friday night's pre-party, there's plenty of room for the good kind of mysteries to unfold.
