Fractal Fantasy co-founder Alan Brinsmead, a.k.a. Sinjin Hawke, today shared his debut album First Opus. The 14-track LP is available both to stream and to engage with as an interactive audiovisual work on Fractal Fantasy's website.

The itinerant producer notably co-produced Kanye West's The Life of Pablo track "Wolves" with Cashmere Cat, and the listener can clearly hear that Brinsmead brought some of that song's classical music influences to First Opus. He also said that the process of producing tons and tons of demos for Kanye during that time period "crystallized the direction of [his] album," in a recent interview with FADER.

First Opus marks the artist's first completely solo release since 2011's The Lights EP, and overall it has a a futuristic, baroque aesthetic, involving everything from hip-hop to grime and footwork influences. The imagery in its audiovisual component is evocative of VR animations, heavy on references to sci-fi and technology.

Brinsmead launched Fractal Fantasy with fellow Barcelona-based producer Zora Jones in 2014; they released their debut compilation Visceral Minds the next year.
