Canadian producer AudioOpera—otherwise known as Graeme Barrett—has recruited Hot Sugar to rework his track, "Forever," which originally appeared on his 2016 EP, Flying From The River. It will be included on a three song EP that also features remixes by Nick Colletti and Kurama/Aamourocean.

He first met the New York-based associative music producer in Winnipeg in 2013, before the latter started his label Noise Collector. "He was playing a show and I was one of the openers. We played in a old biker bar, he was wearing a priest cloak," AudioOpera tells THUMP over email. "Hot Sugar stayed a day after his show where I forced him to eat Tim Hortons, we became friends shortly after."

Here he puts a nightmarish spin on "Forever," wringing out the original's vocal hooks, and descending deeper into the track's foreboding atmosphere with trap-like percussion.
