Weska Sets the Club Ablaze with “Wildfire”

You can add another to the list of Canadians proving techno is anyone’s game.

Cody Hull, better known as Weska, is wasting no time in orchestrating his own musical ascendance. The latest release from Weska's catalogue is coming through Octopus Recordings. On May 19, the Canadian will release his Black Boots EP and is accentuated by the captivating and simplistic track, "Wildfire."

The track opens with the signature high-tempo and aggressive nature that fans have become accustomed to with Octopus Recordings, the label founded and operated by techno-vagabond, Sian. The pulsating bassline cues the darkness and paves the way for the calculated atmospheric sounds, carefully layered above one another. Not for the faint-hearted, "Wildfire" dominates the ambience of whatever set of speakers happen to be emitting it's hypnotic nature.

You can catch Weska along with Octopus boss Sian, Kenny Larkin, and fellow Canadians Marc Houle and Justin James at the official Movement Detroit afterparty on May 24. The showcase will transform BLEU Detroit for a night sure to be full with high-impact beats and top-of-the-line techno.
