The Canadian producer's cover of Public Enemy's "Louder Than a Bomb" gets a 2017 update.
Following their massive rework of Tiga's Hudson Mohawke collaboration "Planet E" last year, British electronic duo Dense & Pika (Alex Jones and Chris Spero) have let loose a remix of "Louder Than a Bomb," off the Montreal producer and Turbo Recording boss' 2006 debut album, Sexor.
Originally an electro-rap cover of Public Enemy's incendiary It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back track, the new version is a modern update with thunderous techno kick drums.
"'Louder Than a Bomb' was one of the Tiga tunes we loved. It's always been in the back of our minds to use that vocal in some way," said the duo over email. "Last summer, we played the a cappella over a track at [Holland's] Awakenings Festival and loads of people messaged us afterwards asking what the track was that we played with the rap in it, so we knew we were on to something."
