Hear A-Trak and Phantogram's Fist-Pumpingly Moody "Parallel Lines"

You can just tell a summer single when you hear it. Even if it's grey and rainy outside, and rapidly escalating climate change has made a joke out of the usual seasonal indicators. Despite it all, you'll get that indelible summer vibe on Fool's Gold boss A-Trak and indie pop duo Phantogram's sunswept, fist-pumpingly moody new single, "Parallel Lines."

It premiered today on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 show for Apple Radio, and the English DJ has even made it his World Record for the day. For the occasion, A-Trak aka Alain Macklovitch, called Lowe to do an on-air interview, where he said the strength of Sarah Barthel's vocal encouraged him to take chances with his own approach. "It was cool working with this song, because the vocal is so beautiful that it just gave me that elbow room to go and do something a little different with the production, while still keeping the musicality," he explained.

Macklovitch also said that he plans to release a handful of singles soon, and will possibly release an EP this year; at the moment he doesn't plan to do an album in the near future.

For the "All Falls Down" video, A-Trak and Jamie Lidell took the title a bit literally and incorporated a rowdy mechanical bull. If you're looking to get to know the breadth of Fool's Gold's discography just a little better, we've compiled a handy short-but-sweet primer.
