NORTHMIX: Alberto Jossue

Perfect for your pre-Desert Heart's and Summerdaze festivities and all of the Fridaze, Saturdaze, and Sundaze that follow.

Alberto Jossue - Northmix by Thump on Mixcloud

In five short years, Alberto Jossue has carved an impermeable name for himself in Toronto's dance music community. The Peru-born, Canadian-implant approaches music as a narrative, always seeking out a new story to tell. His method has served him well, as he's held residences at the now defunct-RYZE, Cabal, and Spark in Toronto.

Jossue is up to bat for this week's Northmix submission. He approaches the plate with precision, twining profound, emotive techno around a study, vivacious bassline. Each track he's selected is said to represent the overall passion and vivacity of the upcoming Summerdaze and Desert Hearts collaborative event in Toronto, which Jossue himself is a slated performer at. Through his invincible mixing ability, the Toronto local honors what he calls, the "perfect marriage of great grooves and passionate melodies" that Summerdaze and Desert Hearts events create.

It's perfect for your pre-Summerdaze festivities and all of the Fridaze, Saturdaze, and Sundaze that follow.

Catch Alberto Jossue during the daytime portion at Summerdaze and Desert Heart's event at District 28 in Toronto on Saturday, August 29. Performances by Tyrone Solomon, Mikey Lion, Lee Reynolds, Adrian Ravelo, and more will be sprinkled throughout the event. Grab your tickets here.
