Stream Tiga's Comfortably Unnerving New One "Don't Break My Heart"

The first single from the eternally-eye shadowed producer's third album is everything we'd expect.

Ever since he made the move from 90s techno-purist to techno-pop in the early 2000s, Montreal iconoclast Tiga has been reliably pumping out dark yet catchy tunes—consistently in favor of infuriatingly simple vocals and bleeps that stay stuck in your head long after the party is over. This singular obsession has always bordered on mimicry, whether he's covering classics (from 2001's "Sunglasses At Night" to 2010's "Hot In Herre") or starting from scratch on his recent smash from last year, "Bugatti." (BTW, we made the video to that).

So it is on his new single, "Don't Break My Heart," four fast minutes of creepy beeps and scandalous synths that repeat the refrain of the title so incessantly that one starts to envision the obsessive fixations of someone not completely sane. The tune is the first taste of Tiga's third album, which will come courtesy of COUNTER, a subsidiary of Ninja Tune.

"Seven years is a lifetime, especially for lifetime full-time dreamers like me," explains the generally-cheeky producer. "Entire fantasy worlds have been loved and lost. Restaurants have opened and closed. I've taken the spiritual advice of those closest to me and chosen to remain inside the present, listening and growing until there's no choice to spring out of the box and share my gift. And that gift is the simplest of questions and answers. What is love? It is what it is, and what it is is it's everything."
