Toronto Noisemongers Odonis Odonis Embrace the Darkness With “Vanta Black”

Toronto noise trio Odonis Odonis have been floating between electronic and rock worlds since their 2011 debut album, Hollandaze, and are set to release their third full-length record Post Plague June 17 via Felte.

The band have just shared the manic dance-punk song "Vanta Black," and it's not for the faint of heart. A distorted Italo-disco bass line kicks things off, before screeching noise, fuzzed-out vocals, and an aggressive post-punk beat kick in.

"The time for half measures has passed," lead vocalist Dean Tzenos tells THUMP of the track. "We need to be bold to make the changes needed to ward off an impending doom. Enough of constant overanalyzing and overthinking that has stopped progress. We need to look deep into the abyss and jump head first into the darkest substance ever known, Vantablack."
