Huoratron's Menacing New Video for "XXVI Crimes of Love" is a Nightmare of Bondage and Drowning

If black metal was not enough to show the world the brilliant, but disturbed musicianship tucked away in the darkness and snowdrifts of northern Europe, then Huoratron certainly should be.

The Finnish producer, whose real name is Aku Raski, has made a name for himself with dark, pounding beats, and screeching melodies that crawl beneath your skin. This year he's set to release a new record, his first album since 2012's Cryptocracy, on Toronto-based Last Gang Records.

The first video for the album, directed by Huoratron and Perttu Saksa, is premiering today on THUMP. "XXVI Crimes of Love" feels like a snuff film hidden beneath super hi-def cameras and vertigo-inducing aerial shots of rocky coastal surf. Electrifying and unnerving, it's montage of bondage and splashing water set to screams and tweaking synthesizers.

If you've ever been afraid of an undertow, of being dragged down and racked on the stones beneath the coves of the ocean, you're going to want to hold your breath.
