Michael Imperial’s “All Night” Music Video Left Us Both Scared and Aroused

It's dark, it's sensual and it's definitely puzzling.

Few films can say that they've been inspired by a combination of mixed martial arts, bowls of Vermicelli and crime-dramas. Actually, have any?

Michael Imperial has taken his fixation for these three things, handed it to Toronto based production house Revolver Films, along with his track "All Night," and together they have concocted an emotionally striking music video.

Shot in Vietnam―a place that has fascinated Michael both in cuisine and martial art forms―the video shadows the tale of a young Vietnamese boy whose nightly activity ranges from criminal to sexual. As Michaels swelling harmonies and cyclic synths loop themselves through the plot, the boy throws back shots of vodka and we even get a glimpse of some boobs.

The track itself is the last of Michael's Secret Drugs Volume 3 series and is a product of late night studio sessions. Inspired by a sample from a studio session video from an upcoming D'Angelo album, Michael produced "All Night" in a single evening. "I feel like that's where the magic of the track lies: It was born from fortuity, it was fueled by instinct, and was not over-worked," he says.

It's dark, it's sensual and it's definitely puzzling, but the video is sure to stir the mystery in all of us. Watch and see what we're talking about above.
