Serpentwithfeet Shares Avant-Garde Music Video for "Four Ethers"

The New York artist adds a stunning, spectral visual to his debut EP, 'Blisters.'

After releasing his debut EP, blisters, on Tri Angle Records back in September, New York musician Josiah Wise, a.k.a. serpentwithfeet, shared his first music video today for one of its tracks, "four ethers."

The video was directed by CRUDO (the team of Timothy Saccenti and Alvin Cruz), and according to The FADER, it was inspired by "Japanese avant-garde dance." The song's spectral, orchestral tones play against the video's bold shades of red, blue, and gold as Wise sings with the passion of someone both in love and in pain: "Baby, it's cool with me that you want to die, and I'm not going to stop you if you try…" Special effects make his every move ghostlike, coupled with projections of men locked in battle with one another.
