Have you ever wondered what a Daft Punk and Beastie Boys mashup album might sound like? Well thanks to Coins' Daft Science, which combines some of the New York hip-hop trio and French electronic duo's most beloved hits together, you no longer need to dream.

Originally released in July 2014, after the Toronto DJ and producer (whose real name is Peter Chapman) got the idea during a Chicago layover on his way to SXSW, the eight-track album resurfaced last week when a Reddit user anonymously shared it on Daft Punk's dedicated forum.

While the concept is such a no-brainer that we can't believe somebody didn't think of it sooner, there's something thrilling about hearing Ad-Rock, MCA, and Mike D rapping over the robots' sleek, futuristic beats ("Alive/Intergalactic" is a clear highlight). "It was a super-fun project that I did out of total love and respect for the Beasties and Daft Punk," Chapman told Toronto's NOW Magazine in a recent interview.
