Ruf Dug's Been Given a Vaporwave Re-Rub and You Can Listen to It Now

We've got the blissed out 2814 remix of "Tendacayou" for your delectation right here.

If we put together a definitive list of our favorite DJs and producers here at the THUMP UK bunker…well, we wouldn't share it with you because it's none of your business, you nosy bastards! What we can tell you though, as long as you promise not to run off and tell all the other people out there in the world making music, is that we really, really, really like Manchester's dreamiest dude, Ruf Dug. We've interviewed him. We've run mixes by him. We talk about him down the pub. He's great.

Given how much we like the guy, it wasn't surprising that we loved last year's Islands LP, released on Music For Dreams. It was balmy, blissful, beatific brilliant balearic that soothed many a hangover and would have sounded great at a barbecue if we'd gone to any barbecues last year. He's followed it up by asking a few pals to remix tracks from the record. The result is Island Remixes which is more inventive than the title suggests.

Featuring reworkings from Kenneth Bager, Peaking Lights, Al Breadwinner and 2814, it's a gorgeously ethereal waft of tropical rainforest new age schmaltz. Which is what we're really into at the moment. You might remember we brought you a track by vaporwave darlings 2814 last September, so it felt only right and natural that we hooked up with them to bring you the premier of their remix of "Tendacayou". Sink into it below:
