Holy Shit, Here's Björk's Mind-Altering Secret Set at Tri Angle Records' Anniversary Party

This one's for the true heads.

It's starting to feel like you can't call yourself a noise techno fan until you've seen Björk jumping around next to you on a dancefloor. On Friday, that's exactly what happened when rave mother Björk put on a sequined mask and took the decks for Tri Angle Records' spectacular five-year anniversary party, as part of the Red Bull Music Academy Festival.

In a damp, darkened basement, surrounded by just a few dozen people—most of whom took a few minutes to recognize who the strange, unannounced creature even was, Björk embarked on an intriguing sonic sojourn that wandered from Sufi singers to Kate Bush, traditional Chilean flutes to Tri Angle artists Rabit, Lotic, and Hanz, and The Haxan Cloak (all of whom played their own punishingly raw sets their night). Oh, and lots and lots of Death Grips. After which, she calmly left the stage to spend the rest of the night roaming around us plebs, or wrapped in Tri Angle founder Robin Carolan's arms. Listen to the recording above—this one's for the heads.
