LEAF 2015 Has Great Chat and a Stellar Line Up

London Electronic Arts Festival have got good chat

Co-founded by Rob Da Bank, making it a sort of studious sibling to Bestival, the two day London Electronic Arts Festival just announced a string of new artists who will impart their musical wisdom this March. The festival is a killer blend of demos, talks, installations and parties, bringing some of the most forward-thinking minds in electronic music to the microphone.

The panel of speakers for 2015 looks as inviting as the live and DJ sets that follow them. Previously announced Nile Rodgers will be talking up his pretty mammoth career as a composer and producer with his no-holds-barred 'Un-Moderated, Uncensored, Unlimited' session. He will be joined by the Ninja Tune crew, celebrating their 25th birthday, with a multiple participant discourse courtesy of label founder Peter Quicke, and artists Toddla T and Andreya Triana. Also just announced are masterclasses from the likes of Ben Pearce, DJ Hype and Dusky. They will be leading sessions on production, live track deconstructions, and even setting up a label. All in all it should be an excellent opportunity to listen to someone tell you how to do something you will never do as well as them.

Then in the evenings you can watch them do it better than you ever will. The Friday evening will feature live sets from Modeselektor, as well as 808 State performing their acid house classic Ninety. Then Saturday night will follow the panels and presentations with a bill fit for any festival, featuring sets from Chris Liebing, Luciano and everyone's favourite dancefloor professor DJ Harvey.

In addition to the concerts, conversations, and club events, the orgainsers have also curated a filmic element to the weekend. Hooking up again with the Branchage Film Festival, attendees will be able to screenings that range from a Bjork concert movie to seminal hip-hop documentary Beat Street. Each of the films on show is followed by a panel discussion afer.

The weekend is moving from last year as well. Now hosted in the immense Tobacco Dock in the London Docklands, the weekend runs on the 6th and 7th of March.
