My 2013: XXXY Delivers A Killer End Of Year Mix

The Rinse FM newcomer explores this years hazy renderings of house

To round off our MY 2013 series this week, we've got a killer mix from Rinse FM's XXXY.

Having grown from an underground pirate radio champion to fully-fledged FM licensed broadcaster in recent years, 2013 has seen Rinse FM solidified as not just a critical figurehead of the UK underground, but symbolic of how generation-defining sounds like grime, dubstep and jungle are gradually seeped into the mainstream. It's this coming together that makes the future of Rinse FM so exciting, and someone who represents that pretty well is XXXY.

XXXY's shows are always playful journeys through house, techno and just about every colourful tone between so, as part of the new school of Rinse FM, it seemed fitting to have him deliver a mix that encapsulates new directions of house and techno this year; from the pulsing drones of Daniel Avery's acclaimed work on "Drone Logic", to the de-jour influence of contemporary US R&B from Jacques Greene.

Thanks XXXY, shoulders are being swung.
