The internet's about to explode, or at least your Facebook feed is.Hyperdub have just released Burial's new EP "Rival Dealer", and the new tracks signal quite a change in direction from any of his previous releases. The latest offering opens with "Rival Dealer", the most up-front track we've heard from the attention-shy producer; rattling amen breaks transforming into industrious, abrasive techno. "Hiders" is a more atmospheric effort that wouldn't sound out of place on the Drive OST, and "Come Down To Us" is a thirteen minute-long epic that keeps on giving. This new direction is bound to surprise some, but it'll put an end to everyone romanticising about how perfect his music is for the long night-bus home.Available on CD and Vinyl on the 16th December, with digital copies available today from Hyperdub.
