Capracara's Given Post-Classical Pianist Emilie Levienaise-Farrouch a Low Slung Re-Rub

Ahead of the release of her new album on 130701, we're bringing you an exclusive remix from Capracara.

It's not that often on THUMP that we cover award-winning French pianist/composers who are currently living in London and divide their time between writing film scores, working on bespoke composition and doing whatever it is that sound designers do. So when we do do that, you know theY'RE going to be good. We're glad to say that award-winning French pianist and composer Emilie Levienaise-Farrouch definitely is good.

Signed to UK independent label —and post-classical specialists— 130701, a spin off of techno record shop turned label Fat Cat, Levienaise-Farrouch's new album Like Water Through the Sound drops this Friday and we can confidently state that we'll probably never big up another album ever again that takes it's title from a a sentence from L'Amant a 1984 novel by cult French writer Marguerite Duras.

It's a beautiful, haunting album, and perfect for the boyfriend, or girlfriend of yours who's really into nice jumpers and Max Richter albums. And we mean that in a good way. You can hear the whole thing in all it's autumnal melancholy glory below:

It doesn't stop there, readers, no, for we have another treat for you. That's right, we've got an exclusive Capracara remix for your listening pleasure!

Jonathan Burnip, known to most of us as Capracara, takes Levienaise-Farrouch's "Strelka" into super low-slung, late night territory, slathering it in juciy, gummy, wormy arpeggios and effervescent synth stabs so delicate it feels wrong to call them stabs in the first place. Synth taps? Synth nudges? Whatever you want to call them, they sound great. We can't wait to hear this tune out over the next few months. Check it out below.
