Vin Sol's Huxely & J. Phlip Remix Is a Little Bit of 'What You Want'

Huxley's kicking off a new label, No Idea's Original, with a sturdy slap of no nonsense house.

Huxley's probably the biggest thing to ever come out of the sleepy market town of Tring. A quick glance at Wikipedia only throws up former referee Graham Poll as a possible contender to the throne, so let's stick with our original assumption. As a producer, remixer and DJ, Huxley's been in huge demand over the last half a decade or so, and he's popped up everywhere from Rinse to Hypercolour, 20:20 Vision to Aus, and now the man known to his mum as Michael Dodman has decided to go it alone with a whole record label of his own. Say hello to No Idea's Original. It's not the first imprint he's had a hand in — readers might remember the now Saints & Sonnets label he ran with Jimmy Posters. This is the first solo job, though, and if he can keep the quality up, we're all in for treat after treat.

Of the name of the label itself, Huxley had this to say: "It's called No Idea's Original because I kept getting asked for 'concepts' for things and found it exasperating. Everything has to have an 'original concept' these days, or so people in the music industry will tell you, and it's bollocks — not least because no idea is original these days. Just putting music out or doing parties because you want to and are passionate should be enough." So there you have it.

He's decided to smash the champagne against the ferry, as it were, with a three track 12" containing two original Huxley joints and a gloriously no-nonsense Vin Sol remix. Huxley's not going it alone though, and he's joined by Dirtybird affiliate and all round househead J.Phlip for a record that bangs and works. We've got the Vin Sol remix right here for you. Check it out below.

'What You Want' drops digitally and on vinyl via No Idea's Original on December 4th.
