Watch Clean Bandit's New Tour Doc From a Very Special Show

Rehearsals, Italian lessons, and pre-show hugs in a piece co-directed by the band's Luke Patterson.

"There's quite a lot of stuff that goes into this show," says Clean Bandit's stage manager in a new mini-doc about the UK band's new tour. "Everything has stepped up. It's a bigger operation."

In the 18 months since the release of their breakthrough, Grammy-winning record "Rather Be," the quartet of Neil Amin-Smith, Grace Chatto, Jack Patterson, and Luke Patterson has barely stopped touring. The group's percussionist, Luke Patterson, teamed with their go-to cinematographer, Anna Patarakina, to document a typical pre-show day during their March 13 show at London's Alexandra Palace. From waking up on the tour bus to a Spice Girls-inspired backstage rally before showtime, the doc gets in there as only a film made by someone in the band itself can.

"Clean Bandit are a special group" says Radio 1's Director of Programming

"We wanted to make something that captures all the hard work that goes into creating a Clean Bandit show, in particular our Alexandra Palace show," says Luke. "It was an incredibly special performance for us, our biggest headline show to-date and hopefully this documentary illustrates how much the show has progressed since our early days as a four piece electronic band."

As anyone who saw the band on its early run last year would note, the show now is markedly expanded with more musicians and singers on stage, larger lighting rigs, and even more instruments for all four members to play with during a set.

The doc closes with a performance of show opener "New Eyes," the title track to their album. Still, it's the quiet, intimate moments with all four band members that make this an endearing clip for a band that has come so far in a short time, but is still on the rise.
