The Odyssey of Andrea Oliva: From Rookie Upstart to Techno Titan

The Ushuaïa Ibiza resident grants us his latest mix.

Andrea Oliva's odyssey from unknown rookie to rising underground techno titan has been an organic one.

His beginnings were as a 13-year old, toiling away in a Swiss record store and educating himself as a DJ. It was there that Andrea began to collect the top house promos and vinyls across Europe and beyond. He then teamed up with the owner of Basel's Nordstern to throw sold-out 'Banditz' parties across Switzerland. Soon enough, these successes started securing bookings at the country's top clubs, resulting in residencies at Terminus, Pravda and Pacha Zurich.

Since then, the rest is history. With distinctive releases on Cadenza (The Click Off), ViVa Music (Sombatiki), Saved Records (Out of Town) and Be As One (Scene / Veto), Andrea was able to signify his sound. We can't fail to mention his relentless international touring itinerary from 2012 onwards.

But it was 2013 and 2014 that proved to be Andrea's most successful years. Most notably, there was his starring role at Ushuaïa Ibiza's ANTS, the island's hottest new underground party. Andrea also topped the Beatport charts with his remix of Luciano's "Rise of Angel," better known as an ANTS summer anthem. During his run, he played an impressive 70 gigs throughout the span of three months. That came in tandem with a heavy presence on Anja Schneider's Mobilee Records, Defected and Voltaire. Plus he made big waves at last October's massive Ushuaïa closing with Marco Carola.

2015 looks to continue the momentum. Andrea's currently putting the finishing touches on an album for Objektivity, he's got slew of global performances already lined up and there are exciting developments with ANTS in the pipeline. To kick it all off, he debuts his exclusive mix, a compilation further cementing Andrea Oliva's natural evolution into a worldwide house and techno fixture.
