Watch the Dark, Sexy Video for Julien Bracht's "Sun"

Sex, death, and ecstasy.

There are a lot of music videos out there in the world, and as many motifs, concepts, and tropes to match them. But in the end, there are really only three things that matter when it comes to telling a story: sex, death, and ecstasy. Nobody knows this better than Marcel Izquierdo Torres, the director of Julien Bracht's "Sun" video, who guides us through a paranoid, abstract narrative built around erotic madness and gluttonous shellfish consumption. With its shots of champagne glasses in bathtubs and fur coats, it feels like getting dressed up for a fancy dinner, then getting sidetracked by a large dose of MDMA and the apocalypse.

The video accompanies a dark, industrial techno beat from Frankfurt-based Cocoon artist Julien Bracht—the first release on Bracht's own Trust Records. Both audio and visual are as sexy and serious as you might expect from the average German, so it's a nice shady break from the heavy levels of PLUR that have been radiating from THUMP's homepage recently.
