It's the best documented outsider story in electronic music since Korn started making dubstep, but Steve Davis' rise as a techno and alternative electronic selector has proven the greatest surprise of recent times. Luckily, for posterity, the BBC have made a lovely little documentary telling the whole story. DJ Snookerstar follows Steve's move from his local radio show to Butlins in Minehead for his debut appearance at the final Bloc weekender. In some truly inspirational scenes we also get to see Steve Davis go head to head with Holly Herndon, ask for advice about his set, and discuss his rear of the year victory in 1985. "My previous job was putting a small ball into a slightly larger hole with a pointed stick, so I'm thinking could I change my life and become one of those DJs on stage."Watch the full doc here.
