"I honestly wrote this song when I was depressed, to be real," says OWSLA-man David Heartbreak on the titular tune to his forthcoming album Rose Colored Bass. "I kinda had a lot going on in my mind and I didn't want to tell anyone, so I made this song. It's pretty much me telling my story without telling my story, if that makes sense. The song is an emotion, I honestly can't even listen to it anymore, but it's dark and it's beautiful. It's heartbreak."

The tune, as many Heartbreak tracks do, is characterized by fluidity, musicality, and evocative melodies and tones. "This song is almost like my redemption song, I wanted to capture a feeling and express an emotion audibly," he says. "This is the definition of heartbreak, the reason I make music, to push boundaries further and further. Heartbreak is the one emotion that we all can relate to. "Rose Colored Bass" is about seeing the bigger picture. Sometimes heartbreak tears you apart and sometimes heartbreak gives you the strength to make it through whatever obstacles you're going through."
